May 05 serves as a day of celebration for the Mexican army’s victorious battle with Napoléon III’s much larger and far better equipped French army in 1862 at Puebla. While the day is designated as a Mexican holiday it is far more important to Americans and Mexicans living in the United States than it is for natives of Mexico. Most Americans have no understanding of the history behind Cinco de Mayo, but it is a great day to enjoy Mexican food and Margaritas – and remember our cultural, demographic and economic ties to the nation beyond our southern border.
Even Chocolate, RAFI’s vice president in charge of Marketing and First Impressions enjoys dressing up each year in celebration of the occasion - along with offering a little Tequila to our client family and staff.
Salud amigos! Que siga el Mariachi!
